Christmas Celebration 2016
Praise be to God for the wonderful Christmas Celebration Service, Worship, and Fellowship we had on Christmas Day! God blessed us with the gift of His Son and we blessed others with the gift of love. LELJBC members shared their time, talent, and treasure. Many provided gifts one to another as well as to families in need at our adopted school. We are indeed a small church with a big heart!! Photos from our Christmas celebration events are located on our Facebook page.

Church and Pastor 14th Anniversary & Thanksgiving Celebration
We had a blessed time in the Lord celebrating our 14th Anniversary on November 20th. We were blessed spiritually by the Lord through Pastor Jones and physically by those who labored to bring us a wonderful Thanksgiving Feast. Members of Living Exactly Like Jesus Baptist Church also donated their time and treasure in order to present Thanksgiving Baskets to families in need at our adopted school. Thanks for Giving and remembering the less fortunate. Check our Facebook page

Pastor Appreciation Celebration
On October 23rd, we honored our Pastor with a special worship service and celebration brunch during our Pastor Appreciation events. Pastor Jones' love and devotion to GOD, GOD'S People, and GOD'S Ministry are unique and admirable. Our Guest Preacher was Rev. Damion M. Briggs, Pastor of Eastern Community Church in Landover, MD. He and members of Eastern Community Church joined with us for a blessed time in the Lord! Pastor Briggs reminded us of how pastors need true soldiers in the army of the Lord, i.e., individuals who are faithful, focused, fortified, and ready to follow.

Women's Worship Weekend 2016
Praise the Lord! Our Women's Worship Weekend September 17-18 consisted of a full day of learning on Saturday and culminated with a high time in the Lord on Sunday. We honored our First Lady with a weekend of praise, worship, teaching, preaching, and celebrating. Rev. Dr. Ruby Purnell and Sis. Patricia Leazer, both of the United Baptist Missionary Convention of Maryland, shared their wealth of knowledge with the women on Saturday. We spent time in the Word learning how to effectively pray, the benefits of praise, and previewed how to be effective witnesses. The interactive activities were motivating and the testimonies were encouraging. Praise the Lord!
Sunday's culmination of Women's Worship Weekend was truly a high time in the Lord. Rev. Dr. Ruby Purnell expounded on our lessons learned from the previous day's conference and Pastor Jones followed with a word from Psalm 100:1-3. We learned the importance of making a joyful noise unto the Lord and the benefits thereof! Our First Lady, Sis. Katherine Jones, was honored for her diligence and dedication to this ministry and God's people. Photos from the event are posted on our Facebook page.

Fed the Less Fortunate -- October 12, 2016 at the Jessup/Columbia Rt. 1 Day Center. A few of our members took the time out of their busy schedules to Feed the Less Fortunate on October 12th. It was a rewarding experience and a wonderful opportunity to fellowship with others, learn their stories and appreciate their struggles. We were also blessed to provide clothing and toiletries as well. LELJBC members learned quite a lot from our first experience of providing food directly other than our usual donations made to various organizations for the same purpose. To God be the Glory for allowing us to donate, prepare, serve, give -- all with a smile! We now serve once a month at the Day Center.

Operation Backpack
We partnered with the various organizations and schools to provide backpacks and school supplies to children in need. Our Community Outreach efforts culminated with an Outreach Event on August 13, 2016 full of fun, food, and fellowship. We were able to donate over 20 backpacks full of supplies thanks to the love and generosity of our faithful members. Operation Backpack was a huge success for our first ever such event. Check out our Facebook page for more information and photos.

Walk/Run to Eradicate Homelessness
In addition to their Family Fun 1 Mile Walk/5k Run, we participated with the Laurel Advocacy and Referral Service (LARS) during their LARS Annual Turkey Trot last fall. The event featured a 1-mile walk and 5k run on Thanksgiving Day to raise funds to help eliminate hunger and homelessness in Laurel. Check out our photos from both LARS 2015 summer fun walk/run and Turkey Trot events.
